Published on 2008-11 by iUniverse

Today’s thought of marriage is antiquated, out dated, old school, and believed not necessary or convenient. Television watching has bombarded our minds with images of cheating, broken, uncommitted, selfish, and shacked up relationships. Also in this 21st century, television programming with its images have fortify itself in the minds of our generation as strongholds, nullifying the desire for marriage as well as blinding the appreciation for what God requires in Christian and married relationships. “Marriage is the transparency of salvation and salvation of marriage; you can trace relationship troubles in one, it will speak of the identical trouble in the other.” Fear not faithful, through this anointed book, God is revealing what He desires to see in married and saved relationships. Th e cover is blown on the enemy’s tactics that cause many to despise holy matrimony and to settle for compromising, convenient, and unholy relationships with God and your spouse. Marriages that are made in Heaven and like salvation has its identity and internal workings in Christ. Christ is the Author and Procurer of them both. Th e copyrights belong to Him, therefore his divine intent and requirements are still effective and still in effect. When you look at God’s redemptive plan for relationships, marriage and salvation has identical DNA. How do we obtain the types of relationships God has ordained for us? • Identify the Twins • Understanding the Engagement Process • Recognizing what love Have to Do With It?

Love Is a Story PDF Free

Love Is a Story PDF
By:Robert J. Sternberg
Published on 1999-06-03 by Oxford University Press

In this groundbreaking work, Robert Sternberg opens the book of love and shows you how to discover your own story--and how to read your relationships in a whole new light. What draws us so strongly to some people and repels us from others? What makes some relationships work so smoothly and others burst into flames? Sternberg gives us new answers to these questions by showing that the kind of relationship we create depends on the kind of love stories we carry inside us. Drawing on extensive research and fascinating examples of real couples, Sternberg identifies 26 types of love story--including the fantasy story, the business story, the collector story, the horror story, and many others--each with its distinctive advantages and pitfalls, and many of which are clashingly incompatible. These are the largely unconscious preconceptions that guide our romantic choices, and it is only by becoming aware of the kind of story we have about love that we gain the freedom to create more fulfilling and lasting relationships. As long as we remain oblivious to the role our stories play, we are likely to repeat the same mistakes again and again. But the enlivening good news this book brings us is that though our stories drive us, we can revise them and learn to choose partners whose stories are more compatible with our own. Quizzes in each chapter help you to see which stories you identify with most strongly and which apply to your partner. Are you a traveler, a gardener, a teacher, or something else entirely? Love is a Story shows you how to find out.

How to Fall in Love with Anyone PDF Free

How to Fall in Love with Anyone PDF
By:Mandy Len Catron
Published on 2017-06-27 by Simon and Schuster

“A beautifully written and well-researched cultural criticism as well as an honest memoir” (Los Angeles Review of Books) from the author of the popular New York Times essay, “To Fall in Love with Anyone, Do This,” explores the romantic myths we create and explains how they limit our ability to achieve and sustain intimacy. What really makes love last? Does love ever work the way we say it does in movies and books and Facebook posts? Or does obsessing over those love stories hurt our real-life relationships? When her parents divorced after a twenty-eight year marriage and her own ten-year relationship ended, those were the questions that Mandy Len Catron wanted to answer. In a series of candid, vulnerable, and wise essays that takes a closer look at what it means to love someone, be loved, and how we present our love to the world, “Catron melds science and emotion beautifully into a thoughtful and thought-provoking meditation” (Bookpage). She delves back to 1944, when her grandparents met in a coal mining town in Appalachia, to her own dating life as a professor in Vancouver. She uses biologists’ research into dopamine triggers to ask whether the need to love is an innate human drive. She uses literary theory to show why we prefer certain kinds of love stories. She urges us to question the unwritten scripts we follow in relationships and looks into where those scripts come from. And she tells the story of how she decided to test an experiment that she’d read about—where the goal was to create intimacy between strangers using a list of thirty-six questions—and ended up in the surreal situation of having millions of people following her brand-new relationship. “Perfect fodder for the romantic and the cynic in all of us” (Booklist), How to Fall in Love with Anyone flips the script on love. “Clear-eyed and full of heart, it is mandatory reading for anyone coping with—or curious about—the challenges of contemporary courtship” (The Toronto Star).

The Psychology of Love and Hate in Intimate Relationships PDF Free

The Psychology of Love and Hate in Intimate Relationships PDF
By:Katherine Aumer
Published on 2016-06-23 by Springer

Social psychology has made great advancements in understanding how our romantic relationships function and to some extent, dissolve. However, the social and behavioral sciences in much of western scholarship often focus exclusively on the more positive aspects of intimate relationships--and less so on more controversial or unconventional aspects. The goal of this volume is to explore and illuminate some of these underrepresented aspects: aspects such as non-monogamy, female orgasm, sadism, and hate, that often function alongside love in intimate relationships. Ultimately, by looking at intimate relationships in this way, the volume contributes to and advocates for a more holistic and comprehensive view of intimate relationships. Throughout the volume, contributors from social, clinical, and evolutionary psychology cover love and hate from a variety of (sometimes opposing) perspectives. The first section, covers love and the changing landscape of intimate relationships. Its chapters review the current literature and research of understudied topics like non-monogamy, female orgasm, sexual fantasies, and the viewpoint of love as something other than positive. The second section explores hate and how hate can operate in intimate relationships--for example, the appearance of sadistic behavior and debates the nature of hate as either a motivation or emotion. The volume concludes, by looking at ways in which the appearance of hate in relationships can be dealt with and overcome successfully. Taken together, these two sections reflect the full variety of experiences within intimate relationships. With the aim of exploring how love and hate can-and frequently do-work together, The Psychology of Love and Hate in Intimate Relationships is a fascinating psychological exploration of intimate relationships in modern times. It is an invaluable resource to academics and students specializing in psychology, gender, and sociology, including clinicians and therapists, and all those interested in increasing our knowledge of intimate relationships.

Domestic Violence PDF Free

Domestic Violence PDF
By:June Hunt
Published on 2013-06-12 by Aspire Press

Domestic Violence: Assault on a Woman's Worth God designed the marriage relationship to benefit one another. He intended married couples to love, honor, and cherish each other all the days of their lives, but life doesn't always turn out that way. In some relationships, cruelty has replaced the sacred relationship defined by God. The Domestic Violence mini-book outlines a Christian approach to help you identify and stop physical and emotional abuse. Experts estimate that 1-in-3 women suffer from some form of violence from a husband, boyfriend, or relative. In too many homes around the world, the marriage bond has become bondage--shared lives have become shattered by abuse. Yet these secret assaults stay hidden from the outside world. Any form of abuse is a flagrant violation of the marriage vows, To have and to hold from this day forward, |to love and to cherish, 'til death do us part.| And although such abuse is too frequently behind closed doors, it is blatantly in the open before the eyes of the Lord. Included in the mini-book Domestic Violence: Assault on a Woman's Worth are abuse checklists with a list of behaviors that you may have observed or experienced. God has a heart for those who are victims of domestic violence. He wants you to know that he hears your cries; he thinks you are worthy of love without violence, and he holds you in the palm of his hand. Learn the causes of violent behavior and the reasons many women won't leave abusive relationships. In the section titled, |Steps to Solution,| June Hunt gives many tools: • How to answer a person who claims that violence is justified. • How to know whether the abuser has really changed • How to build healthy boundaries • How to prepare a safety plan • How to use the law in the United States • And much more.
